The first and most important thing at the very start is to build as large a mob as possible. There are several ways you can accomplish that:
1. First - invite all of your friends.
2. Second - have them send invites to their friends.

Cash In Hand: Build Your Income
To build up your income, you must get your hands on cash to purchase properties. There are two ways to acquire cash in the game. The first and easiest is by performing missions. Another way is by attacking rival mobs. In successfully attacking a rival, you get to steal some serious cash away from your enemy.
The properties you purchase generate an hourly income. The more properties a you own the higher your hourly income. You MUST build an income because the weapons, body armor, and vehicles are used in a fight require upkeep that count against a your income.
Also, the higher a your income, the more it costs an enemy to “place a hit” on you, so increasing income is one of the highest priorities in the game.
The Art of Attack and Defense
Regardless of how numerous your mob is, at Level 1 you can only fight with five. Every time your level goes up, you get to add 5 more, until they get to Level 100 and max out with 500 mobsters. You are allowed to have more than five hundred mobsters; however, you can only use 500 in a fight.
In order to successfully attack other mobs or to defend against attacks, you MUST be sure that each of your mobsters is fully armed. Each mobster needs to be equipped with a weapon, body armor, and a vehicle.
Many different types of weapons, vehicles, and body armor become available to you as you progress through the game. Each one is rated with a different attack/defense rating. The higher the rating, the more damage the weapon does to an enemy.
The game automatically chooses the weapons, based on the attack/defense rating. So, you need to have two sets of weapons, one set for to attack rival mobs and another set to defend yourself with.
Your weapons' attack and defense rating, along with your skill points, determine if your mob emerges victorious from a fight.
Get the Most out of Top Mob !
There are two reasons for using the Top Mob feature on Mobsters. The first and most important is that it is a best way to receive more energy, so you can perform more missions. The second reason is that you can acquire more cash.
To get the maximum energy boosts a day, you MUST find other mobsters who ALWAYS return energy. This, however, is a trial and error process. Some mobsters always return energy while others never do.
The game allows you to send up to 16 energy boosts every day. As each boost is worth 10 points, that means players can receive 160 more energy boosts if all the mobsters that receive a player’s energy boosts return that energy.
Some players like to take advantage of what is called a 20/20 energy send. When a player sends someone energy, that same player can return that energy send, then place that same person in their own Top Mob and send them an energy boost. When the original energy sender returns the second boost, both players receive an additional 20 energy points; however each boost counts against the 16 total boosts.
Even when you run out of opportunities to send energy for the day, you can still receive and return energy that other players send. You CAN take advantage of this feature by requesting, via the Broadcast, that other players send you energy.
Mobsters also allows you to collect an additional 200 energy boosts that doesn’t count against your 16 Top Mob energy boosts. To collect them, simply go to the App Notifications section in the Myspace Mail Center, scroll to, and click “Accept” on the Mobsters Notification.
The Top Mob Cash Feature allows you to collect a cash bonus from each mobster in the Top Mob. The amount of the bonus is based on the hourly income of that player. The higher that player’s hourly income, the more cash you get to collect.
However, the total amount you get to collect is limited by his hourly income. Obviously, increasing hourly income is one of the highest priorities in the game.
